The facilities at Ergon must be a sight to behold. One imagines hundreds of mannequins arranged in rank and file, like so many terra cotta warriors. Well-lit scientists in lab coats poking and prodding silicone cheeks. Taking notes on clipboards. Anyways, the Ergon SM Sport Saddle is obviously the result of some serious butt research, with channels and ramps designed to fit your sit bones to a T. Except it’s shaped like a Y.

Deep Relief Channel– The progressive relief channel, which deepens towards the rear, leads to an opening through the saddle shell. This construction combines all of the advantages of a cut-out saddle without the potential disadvantages. This design gives the saddle shell more forgiveness as well as specifically relieves perineal pressures. Too much pressure in this area often leads to discomfort and numbness in the genital area.
Flat Rear– The narrow, flat rear with a flat contour and minimal ramp gives you excellent freedom of movement for dynamic positioning while mountain biking.
Removable Topeak QuickClick Saddlebag Mount– This removable QuickClick mount allows or Topeak saddlebags to be easily attached in a streamline fashion.
Orthopedic Comfort Foam
Y-Shape for Freedom of Movement
- Used For: Road, Gravel, Cross Country, Trail GravelThink of gravel bikes as the SUVs of the road bike world. Designed to excel on rougher roads, gravel bikes combine drop bar efficiency with mountain bike comfort, making them ideal for a variety of two wheeled adventures. Cross CountryWith speed and pedaling efficiency in mind, cross country (XC) bikes are the lightest mountain bikes with the least suspension travel (typically 0 – 120mm). TrailTrail bikes are the quintessential “mountain bikes.” If you’re heading into the woods expecting to do it all on two wheels – climbing, technical sections, AND fun descents – you’re looking for a trail bike.
