Snowboarding is meant to be fun, and the Nitro Optisym Snowboard knows it. This board is poppy, playful, and full of energy, which is perfect for riders who don’t take life too seriously when they head to the mountain. Its playful character is backed up with a durable build to stand up to daily abuse from rails and features, including skate wheel urethane reinforcement along the heelside edge. Radical!

Rocker Type

Cam-Out Camber– A classic camber shape with early and smooth transitions into tip and tail. The result is a fun and responsive board that turns on the spot and is forgiving, even after that 713.5° landing!

Flex

Urban– This ultra-flexible board can be tweaked any way you like, from rails to butter tricks, and it won’t wash out on you.

Dual Degressive Sidecut– This sidecut blends a smaller radius in the center with two larger radii in the tip and tail, making it loose and playful. Nitro’s most forgiving sidecut.

Sidewalls

Ureshred Sidewalls– Just like skate wheels and bushings, these sidewalls are made from polyurethane, which makes them highly resistant against impact and abrasion as well as giving them excellent dampening characteristics.

Powerwall– New construction of Ureshred Polyurethane sidewall material integrated into the core strengthens the core on the heelside edge. The sidewall material has a curved design in the wood core and a +20mm peak in between the bindings. This additional sidewall material provides extra durability and damping properties while improving the agility to get on an doff your heelside edge. Powerwall gives more support for flatland tricks and added durability for carving and knuckle tricks.

Intermediate to advanced skis and snowboards may be somewhat wider or stiffer than beginner-intermediate skis and snowboards, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Intermediate to advanced boots and bindings range from softer flexing freestyle options to stiffer choices built for stability at speed.

Rocker Type: Camber CamberCamber is the traditional profile for snowboards, and still popular among high-level park and pipe riders because it offers maximum energy and pop. A cambered board has a smooth arch underfoot and touches near the tip and tail when unweighted; when the rider’s weight is added, it provides a long, evenly pressured running surface and edge.

Flex Rating: Medium MediumThe amount a snowboard flexes varies significantly between boards. Snowboard flex ratings are not necessarily standardized across manufacturers, so the flex may vary from brand to brand. Many manufacturers will give a number rating ranging from 1-10, 1 being softest and 10 being stiffest. Here at evo we have standardized the manufacturers’ number ratings to a feel rating ranging from soft to very stiff. Generally you will find flex ratings of 1-2 as soft, 3-5 as medium, 6-8 as stiff, and 9-10 as very stiff. Flex ratings and feel may ultimately vary from snowboard to snowboard.
